  • Replacement dipstick for 1965-66 V8s

I just had to buy a new dipstick for the 1966 Cruiser with the Chevrolet 283 motor. NAPA part number is 735-4951 and was $7.99 plus tax. I was told this fits all SBCs up to 1977.

Just a heads up if anyone else may need to replace one, and by the way, it is a chrome plated assembly, including the sheath, which is longer, as is the stick itself, than the original, but the lengths all look compatible.

Good deal, Sam. I've got a 4bbl intake manifold (from a 67 Impala), air cleaner for same (I think),and a triple groove, chromed crankshaft pulley that I bought years ago for the 283 that was in the Wagonaire I sold. Free for shipping costs to anyone that wants them![^]

    Miscreant at large.
No deceptive flags to prove I'm patriotic - no biblical BS to impress - just ME and Studebakers - as it should be.
