Have not seen anything on this yet. Do you have a source for pictures? The price is a little higher than in the past. I have read that the price of zinc has gone up a lot in the past year and die-cast as we know it may be a thing of the past. Racing Champion has announced they will stop producing there die-cast.

Ellen ordered one before I got my hands on the flyer.

Does anyone remember the 60 Minutes "expose" on the Franklyn Mint? It aired sometime in the 80's or 90's.

It was a very nasty Mike Wallace in your face expose. It was when they were touting that their stuff would be a valuable collectable heirloom. He got them to admit that they were pushing stuff that was not collectible, and would not become valuable hand me downs.

You have to remember this was when they were not producing limited runs, just burning out product after product after product.

I guess after that interview they stopped making the same thing over and over agian and like the cars "retire" them, only to bring them back in different colors.

The 60 Minutes piece was based more on the Hummel stuff and commerative coins and statues.

I called them lsst year to see if I could "handle" the Studebakers they were making, and yes they would sell to dealers, problem was, and is the minimums are a bit high and you only get about 35 to 40% off.

Perhaps after a "Limited Run" they should post a video on Youtube showing the dies being destroyed!
