NASTY But I don't get the "last trip" part. Definitely fixable!
A modern car with that much damage would cost more to fix than it's value- thus would be totalled. But a collector car is a different story. Hard to tell from the pictures shown, but if it's a quality build it will be well worth saving. The frame looks straightenable, or at least new rails could be sectioned. The rear tub? Done plenty of times- mostly to repair rust.
I get the feeling some would think it would be impossible to find parts. Common misconception where Studes are concerned.
I have a 60 Lark VI 4dr here. The PO spent good money to have floors put in, body done, and new paint at a pro shop. Drove it home from the shop and while waiting to make a left turn into his driveway for the first time he was rear-ended. He was so dejected he drove it into the back yard and left it.
A few years later he passed away and the house sold. While cleaning the house out his family stuck the car on eBay, as-is. I straightened the LR frame rail and inner fender. Bought a NOS fender for $35, and a parts car from Frank Drumheller for $100 with everything else it needed.
Too bad the guy gave up on the car after spending all that dough. It wasn't as bad as it looked.
I think this car is the same situation. Hope the owner doesn't give up on it too quickly.

Oh my! What the heck happened to it?
How would you feel, if after taking your fresh car to the alignment shop for it's first ride, park the car in your driveway and have this happen?????????? It seems this fella was coming down Bellview Ave ( a winding street) in Sudbury, when he failed to negotiate a slight right curve...

The car looks rather interesting now as a boat-tail speedster. [B)] I assume the insurer of the Crown Victoria will pay for the damages, or at least I hope it does.

I'm so sorry to see that.
I'm very glad it wasn't mine or Dave's new black 1955. (which I thought it was for a moment)
I once had my 2 day old paint job keyed after I did all of the bodywork and had it painted. (non-Stude, a Cordoba). I sold the car about a week later for a song.

The story goes ........ car was just finished and was at the alignment shop for a complete suspension alignment, a Crown Vicky missed the corner, jumped the curb and plowed into the right quarter sending the car into a park truck and destroying the left quarter.
I wouldn't go so far as to say it's totalled just yet.
