Interchangable parts

I am redoing the breaks on my 42 studebaker commander and I can't quite find a new pair of wheel cylinders for the 42. Do 47 wheel cylinders work on the 42 or not so much?

Your part numbers are 515692 for the right and 515693 for the left. My parts books are only up to 1946 and shows only the 42 Commander and President used it. I would expect the book is wrong and 1946 is the same. I am not at all sure about 1947 and later. Is this a cylinder with two different bore sizes? I know those are tough. Rebuild kits are still around if the casting is salvageable. Worst case you can get them sleeved by Apple Hydraulics but I expect that costs!

They take a Studebaker # S-376 Front, and S-377 rear REPAIR KIT, that is all that is available for '35-'42. The '47-'53's ARE different. [:0]

You can try these guys (http://www.brakeplace.com/) also they rebuilt mine for a reasonable price. I thought. They are in Minneapolis and are over all really cheap on most things.
