Hey bams I just finally got around to registering it yesterday. I still need to get it inspected. I tried to get antique plates on it so I didn't have to get it INS. But the four pictures required weren't up to par. The drivers window was down and there was a sticker in the rear window and the moulding was missing on the front 2 fenders and there was a mark in the paint ect. ect. Man they were tough on the old girl. Anyway I just caved and got regular plates so now a state inspection is required. Also I still need to get the supercharger rebuilt. But as to your original question, soon I hope but likely not till after Glendale some time. I'm still trying to get brakes on the Toter also. Now the wheel cylinders are leaking. So I have to address them now.

          Ain't they fun.

Buses are cool. A few years ago our Car Club purchase a very cool 1945 Ford school Bus. Most of these were made by buss buiding companies and used different sheet metal on the front to designate what kind of bus it was. Ous was built buy the Novelty School Buss Co. in Spokane Wa. and use a war time Ford truck nose. I have seen the same bus in different lenths with other Car Co.'s front ends on them.
We used a 1981 Chev dually chasis that we shortened 17". Our bus was a short 14 passenger. This gave us immediate mounts for a big block chev, disc brakes, heavey rear springs, modern front suspension and a fairly new frame.

.....and in my case an empty pocketbook!

What a project that would be. It would be nice to see redone all original, but I would love to drive the thing. Diesel power would be nice, with the limited engine room space a Cummins would be nice. Maybe set the whole thing on a Dodge dually platform.

A possible alternate use for that Studebaker school bus.
                I would volunteer to drive.

That Stude bus would be a rare thing to have. It is amazing what has survived out west in the drier climates.
I would leave the wheel standing to later model, more common vehicles.

                    1952 Commander 2 door. Really fine 259.

I posted it on craigslist for a friend, it was scheduled for the crusher, or a guy that wanted it for a storage shed[xx(]. Have had a lot of interest in it, it WILL be saved for a better cause. If I didn't have 4 Studey projects already....
