Funny it should come up: earlier today I stumbled upon this site

It claims Galvin was first, and that Blaupunkt installed the first stereo in a car in 1932.
And that was a Studebaker, also.

Almost a decade earlier, the first amateurs to install a radio in a car were a couple of Grand Canyon rafting guides, the Goldwater brothers. One of them got pretty famous for taking Lowell Thomas on a radio broadcast adventure in the canyon. He was a big fan of Suburbans.

The radio in that 31 President appears to be placed as far to the right as possible in the dash out of the driver's easy reach. Is that the stock location or was placement at the owner's discretion?

After watching that Wildflowers video again, I will guess far to the right is the stock location, going by where the radio is in that Four Seasons Roadster.
