Congratulation on your Treasure Trove Sal!

I still can't believe what these R2 parts are going for!

R2 Hawk/Lark Waterpump manifold for $657! I expected the manifold to go for about $400

Used Dual point R2 Distributor for over $225. I thought about $100 max

Hawk/Lark Crank pulley for over $300. Unbelievable.

Wow! Someones building a R2 machine and money is no object!

I've always felt the water manifold was the key part to building an R2. It seems to be the hardest part to find, and one rarely sees them available. You can buy a repop balancer, cams are out there, and even blowers, but a water manifold for sale?...a rare sight indeed![8D]

I bought my 63 R-2 Hawk in 1989. It was a real JTS engine & after getting the production broadcast found it was the original engine, less everyting R-2! Took me 3 years to finally getting a water manifold after buying a complete R-2 engine for it. Now after seeing what it would cost just for a few items, I'm glad I did it then!

I used a poor choice of words by saying put a gun to his head ,but for the people that don't know me or my friend in Australia then it might look like there will be a price fight for these R-2 parts, but be assured that is not the case here, I have the parts he sets the price, every thing has always been fair in the past and no reason to figure and different on these...Bob

Hey guys, it's the old story of supply & demand. I would imagine that tuning stuff is even more expensive for vintage Chevies & Fords.

Only problem is that engine is so common!;) They are fine runners, I do like them; but in my opinion won't ever have the same character as a hot stude V8, in a stude.[8D]

Just my 2 cents:)
