  • Late Model windshield gaskets

Are windshield gaskets still availabe for 64-66 larks? I noticed SI didn't have any listed in their ad in April's magazine.

We had rain last night & I took a peek inside the car (66 sedan) just to see where it would be wet (I've removed the rubber mats). There are 3 places where water had come down the firewall, between the insulation and firewall. I assume this from gasket leaks, or are there other possibilities? The gasket does have some cracks.

In the back it looks like the leak paths are from the rear fender mounting bolt areas (mastic seal failure?).
    thanks,
    Mike Sal

Yes Mike, front and backs are both available. Check SI online.

Check the trunk area for body seam leaks on the underside of the panel between the rear glass and the decklid, it goes all the way to the fender join and leaks there.

That is a very common leak area on Larks and Lark Types. [:0]

when you get those seals for your 64-66' Lark type...make sure you use plenty of sealant...They leak like a sieve otherwise....that is unless there is a new & improved batch

I think that body seem is the only place it doesn't leak. The trunk had moisture from the side panels, at each of the mounting screws from the fenders.

Thanks, for the tip regarding the extra sealer.
