It was a slow day after school today, but really nice weather. So, what better thing to do than drive a Studebaker?;) Long story short, I asked mom if she wanted to go for a ride (since she just joinded the SDC) and somehow we ended up at SI! So I went in, checked out some things and showed the '40 to Ed.:)[8D] By this time, mom needed to go do some shopping, but didn't really want to take the '40 mainly because it dosen't have a lock on the driver side, and that groceries are at high risk to fall thru the trunk...[B)] I said ok and we went back home. (SI South Bend is maybe 10 miles from my house, if that). So she went and did what she had to and what not. Then later on she calls me back and said a friend of my other boss (I also help out at a lawnmower shop) wanted to see the '40. I said sure, and got back in the '40 and drove it to his place! Point of this story, I got to drive my Studebaker basically all over the west side of South Bend today, twice! Smile and drive!:D[8D]
As my door almost says: "I'm Stoked"[:o)]

Is your mom shopping for a Studebaker for herself now? Bams has a 1959 Lark sedan that might be good for her. He'll even deliver it to South Bend! :) It will need some floors welded in, you can take that opportunity to convince her to purchase a wire feed welder! ;)

No, she really only joined because I'm a member. She has her own projects, a 1939 John Deere "L" (already restored). She dosen't want any more projects.:)

Chris--

So cool!!

I'll be keeping an eye open for a black '40 2dr when I get to SB next month. If you see an unfamiliar Ontario-plated blue Lark that suddenly starts honking its horn like crazy, that'll be me...:D

Chris your enthusiasm really cracks me up. :D

"if you see a black 2 dr 40 honking it's me"

Reminds me of the time I was driving around neigborhoods (16 at the time mind you) in the Lark and happended to see a Studebaker in a driveway. With no care in the world I stopped, rang the door bell, and was about ready to leave a note on the door, when a fellow who obviously worked nights opened the door. [B)]

I didn't really have anything to say other than, HI!, I like your Studebaker, see mine in your driveway? [^]

Moral: [:o)] You have to wave or stop by, you never know when the next encounter will be.!? Right ;) [8D]
