  • 1963 Lark 6 trunk emblem

The Trunk lid plastic emblem on my lark shattered today when I closed the trunk. It was cracked annd was going to be replaced anyway, but I was bummed. Will call SI tomorrow and order a replacement.

I looked up into the access hole and it looks like its held in place by two nuts. Any ideas what tool works best for removing it? Do these just bolt into position, or do I have to glue it and screw it?

It's been a while since I disposed of my '63 but, I think the bezel is held in place with a couple of speed nuts, easily removed with a nut driver. The medallion is held in place by the bezel.

...I think maybe 3 speed nuts..? You may not be able to see the 3rd. I have a couple of the 6 cyl trunk pieces you ask about. Not great or NOS, but very driveable. I'd be happy with shipping costs or exchange for a Stratoline mirror face...of seeable condition (I may not have the mnirror name right, but it's the one that SI sells the glass part alone....) Anyway, I've got at least one good one....

jackb is correct - 3 speednuts - and the bezel holds the plastic medallion in place.
