Looks like Jerry Forrester and I will cruise up to SB. We'll drive my Fordabaker as its fuel mileage is twice that of his Cadillac dump truck. I just need to get those STUDEBAKER tailgate stickers put on.

I've got some trim to haul up there; free delivery. Anybody else?

Tomorrow I'll call and reserve my inside vendor's space. Stop by and say hey.

I suggest that you bring your tools of the trade with. That way you can earn money while there to pay for the gas and motel room. ;) I hope to make it there myself and say 'hi'. I guess that means I have about 3 weeks to get my Hawk ready for the long journey. Yikes!

I will try to make it to meet some of you folks.

Is the Jamison the place or what would be the alternatives?

I plan to be there, too, spectating. May cruise the Jamison in the Avanti a lap or 2. I've got an EZ up if anybody needs to borrow some roof space. Any open rooms at the Jamison?

I'll be there, in the Lark all going well, else riding shotgun in one of the other local Studes. If things pan out perfectly there will be at least two "first-timing" Hamilton Chapter cars going.

You have me stumped, I have to admit, about "the Jamison"...what is "the Jamison"?

Chris--

Thanks...figured it had to be a hotel, but the comment about "a lap or two" didn't seem to square with that! (High speed banked hotel parking lot?):D

Our group will be in what was the host hotel for last year's ZM. If I do have the Lark with me though I'll have to make a point of dropping by the Jamison while in SB...less than a month off now, really looking forward to it.

The (independently owned) "Jam[u]I</u>son" Inn located on the east edge of the Notre Dame Campus has changed names to Ivy Court Inn & Suites. Many had stayed there as they gave special rates for SDC & AOAI members. The (national chain) "Jam[u]E</u>son" Inn, believe Joe was referring to, is located at 215 S. Dixie Way, South Bend. Hope this helps clarify.

Will I have any difficulty finding a room nearby without reservations? I hate planning ahead. If all else fails, is there a Wal-Mart parking lot nearby so that I can park my Stude and sleep in it? ;) I may soon regret having bucket seats with a floor shift.

Move over to Larks and get recliners...Hawks don't recline all the way,... you'll get a better sleep in a Lark.

I have not made my reservations yet in South Bend either. I don't believe the Bend is at peak season so I have not bothered.

I'll bring my hammers. But no buffer or sander, that'd cause too much noise and dust inside. So I'd be able to fix a small dent but no polishing.

Glad to hear you are comming to the may meet. We will be at the Comfort Suites on 31 and may have an extra room. The parking lot seems to be plenty big so we will also be hanging out in the lot. Also planning a cruise over to Tom Ks Stude farm friday evening, its worth the trip if you have never been there. Ed

If anybody is coming to town early, there are two shows coming up before the SB SDC meet. The first is on April 25 and is an open car show with no formal judgeing. The next is on May 1st in memory of a SB fallen officer. I plan on having the '40 at all three.[:p]

It's a Studebaker Meet tradition. :) Stay up 'til way past midnight talkin' about cars and drinking adult beverages. (Of course, I'll stick with Coca Cola).

First time I ever "tailgated" was at the South Bend National meet in '07. It's where the title "Tailgating With Matthew" came from.

Hmm, if a zone meet tailgateing is a blast, I wonder what a international meet session is like![:p][8D]

I'm in. [8D] Vendor setup isn't until Noon on Thursday. So a morning museum visit works for me.

Joe Bacon told me he would try for a room at the Comfort Suites. I have pictures of him changing valve cover gaskets on an R2 Daytona at 2am, back in '07...

If this keeps up, this'll be the best Tailgating party around. [8D]

Thursday morning works for me for the museum. Will you be at the hotel that morning? Thinking I'll pull in and spot the trailer, then be free for the day. If it's really nice weather, maybe unload the Avanti and cruise.

All the hotels around here are pretty close toghether, and all are close to the grounds. I'm not sure exactly where the one you are staying at is (because I usually don't know the names[:o)]), but if it has "university" in it, it's probably near Notre Dame.
