Howdy all,
My dream car is a '57 Golden Hawk, 400 or not. A friend of mine owns a '57 Golden Hawk, with a 400 interior. Yes, identical to the one in Chris Dresbachs photo's. Only problem is this: Its serial # is too low to be a production 400, OR a show car! He believes it too be a factory install, and not a clone.
So, I've looked into the serial #'s of 400s, its not on the list. He said he looked into the P.O, and it doesn't say anything like that. I want to look at it myself, but haven't yet. Maybe 2 views would see something the others didn't.
My idea's at the moment are this: Its a clone; good possibility, but I'm going to keep on searching before I condemn. How about the possibilities of a engineering diviation? Then they liked what they saw, and put it into a production model? Or, maybe it was a less known interior option, before they turned it into the 400 model. Just like some R series cars that came out before the package models.
What do you guys think? Any other idea's?
Either way, I think the car should be saved, and hope to get a chance to purchase in the future. Even if I got a '57 G.H, it would be a 400 clone when I was done with it anyways, LOL![8D]
