Charlotte AutoFair 2010

Drove up to Charlotte today for AutoFest 2010..
(16 mpg, and saw no Stude's along the way[V])
Went to the pre-arranged meeting spot.
NOBODY was there (Stude guy wise)...all afternoon.
Cleaned the grime off the Yellow POS...
Sat through two downbursts (figures)
Left the show grounds and went over to one of my Charlotte hangouts.
Asked the help to wipe the raindrops off the Yellow POS
(Sorry Matthew, you have been replaced[}]).

And for the Carolina boys...
Parking spots have been reserved for 'after the show' Friday night...

Is your "help" going to wipe down the yellow beast in the morning after the pollen piles on it overnight? Hope you enjoy AutoFair, I'll be at Maxton for the weekend. It's spring time and there just might be too much car stuff going on at the same time.

All I can say is it was 'lonely' at the Stude site at the race track without any other Stude guys and gals there...

Naturally, I couldn't get my '63 Avanti back in time for the show. It's still in the body shop for "finishing" touches. It lives at either the body shop or repair shop. One of these days it's actually going to spend a little time with me, hopefully.

I could bring my '66 Commander over Sat if it wouldn't embarrass the Stude faithful. It runs good, but is due soon in the "body shop" itself for replacement NOS fenders and repaint. [^]

Imagine this......
A 1&1/2 mile high banked oval race track......
Park cars two, and even three deep perpendicular to the racing line...
Park them like that for the full 1&1/2 miles...
Then think about the fee the owner paid to put the sticker on the car offering it up for sale.

Biggest used car lot I have ever seen.
Fun to see all the cars and trucks... Pita to walk 1&1/2 miles on crooked (banked) pavement.

Then there's the infield..
Hard core pro vendors on the paved areas...Packed Full
Weekend sale warriors on the grassy areas....Packed Full

Then there's the outside parts flea market areas...
Red Zone...A thousand booths of 'stuff' (One whole NASCAR parking section)
Green Zone...Bigger than the Red Zone....(ugh)

Walked the Red Zone yesterday, as well as making a loop around the track and picking around in the infield....
Pooped me out...[|)]
Saturday?
Scrounging in the Green Zone and more of the infield.
(As well as hanging with the Carolina Stude Gang[]....)
