  • Engine swap

I have a M15 truck with a broken engine but the rest of the drive train seems to be OK. I have been thinking about swapping in a later model engine: something like a 292 Chevy 6, or a 300 Ford 6 or a newer Chevrolet dual cam 4.2 l. Does anyone have info on transplanting in one of these engines and mating it to the original transmission in terms of engine/tranny adapters, engine mounts, radiator changes, etc? I would rather stay with an in-liner rather than go to a V-8, even a Stude V-8. Thanks

I put a 300 Ford 6 in a 63 T-cab truck. It is a long engine and had to put the radiator farther forward. In a early truck you would have a tough time. If you really want a 6 use the 4.3L Chev. V6.
