  • 1954 Studebaker 2 dr sedan

I've been looking at a 1954 2 door Sedan with asking price of $1500. Body, glass, bumpers look good and only rust thru seems to be on the front fenders. Mechanical will probably all have to be rebuilt as well as the interior. The cars 200 miles away so I've not seen it in person, but before I do Any advice on what to look for would be appreciated.

Check for missing parts, real close. Check for missing grill parts,
and floorboards for rust. CHECK FRAME for rust. Steering
wheel, trim parts, etc,. ANYTHING missing. Sounds like you already
know about mechanical? If you are using original parts, be sure
to check mechanical as much as possible. Good luck

You might want to post your location and the cars.

You never know when some local friendly SDC member may go look at it for you.

      And, Welcome

I saw one for sale in Perry, GA yesterday. Would it be navy blue and completely stock?

Number one question: Is it a desirable Commander or just a Champion 6?

Hell, I'll take either one! [^] Anybody know where I can get a decent, 2 door, just a Champion 6?

How many 54 2 door sedans V-8 and auto have you seen??? I have only seen one and right now that is at my shop and runs rather sweet v-8 and auto also good body and 11" brakes up front right now and larger for the rear, it is green and could be a sweet car for the right person, it belongs to Fred K of this forum, one day he wants to sell it the next day he doesn't but if you are looking for one let us know...Bob

Looks like a Champion 6. But I will admit that I'm probably not quite as tuned in on Studebakers as many here are. Not Navy Blue but is 1/2 Light blue and half what looks like surface rust. Kinda scared to disclose location until I figure out if I want it or not. Yes, pretty sure on mechanical. So if the body does check out relatively OK, $1500 seem fair?
