1941 Studebaker Colors

A friend of mine has a 41 President,the exterior color is black.He is installing a new wiring harness and cleaning up the engine compartment.Question ,what color and degree of shine should the firewall,inner aprons and under the hood be.. Thanks for any help

'42's were painted exterior color & quality throughout.I don't believe '41's were any different.

My '40 Champion is black, and the firewall is black as well.
