  • Need help to id transmission.

I am using a brand NEW truck automatic transmission.
I believe these were used in T cabs and postal trucks.

It is a BW As 2-8D ser 10036- on the tag, the tag is blue in color.

It has a vacuum line instead of a rod on the accelerator pedal linkage.
It has a kick down switch.

    Like to know:
    1. What is the Part number for the Transmission?
2..What is the part number for the speedometer cable?, which is what I am missing.

    Thanks

    Paul

The transmission is Studebaker part # 1694041. It is shown for 1962-64 six cyl. Champ.
The 7E-8E parts book does not show a speedo cable for a Champ with A/T, but the 1957-61 book does. It's the same as used with 3 spd. O/D, part# 677711X2, shaft with core, 60" length.
Please tell me, what color is ID tag on the side of the trans?

The color of the tag is blue and the transmission is NOS.
What is the significance of that?

Each FlightO model has a different color tag as an identifier. I don't think I've seen the truck colors printed anywhere before.
Of course some of these are painted over or hot-tanked off by now.
