  • Torque converter for an R2

I recently built an R2 clone for in my 63' cruiser. I'd like to switch to a higher stall torque converter like the ones used on the powershift "R" cars. Does anyone know of an aftermarket crossover that I can use?

    Thanx Parke

You could increase the stall in your existing converter ?

Really? I'm not very versed on what happens past the back of the block, how is it done?

You need to take the converter to a converter specialist.
I had mine rebuilt about 2 months ago at a cost of $200 Aud. This included increasing the stall and whatever else they did.
Basically they split the converter and change the internals.
I believe it's something to do with the angle of the vaines anyway they should know what to do.
