  • A Sad Demise for 53 Grills

This car is interesting, especially with the Continental Kit, but check out the grill surrounds.

Are cars like that worth buying (cheap) to obtain usable parts, then junk the rest or are they basically scrap?

John you spelled it wrong should be crap, also that is not a 56 hood and the surrounds look more like they came from a sedan, patches and screws sure are first class, I can honestly say I have scrapped better cars than that one..Bob

Laughs, thanks Bob, just that if a car is destined for scrapping, maybe something useful can be saved, obviously nothing in this case.

Looks like a goner to me, although I like those long rear fenders; if the Conti kit is all there that's definitely worth saving. Wonder what the thinking was with the screwed-on pieces in the grills[?]

That is quality! I'm still snickering... and think I have found a new moniker for those cheap 99 cent TV dinners! LH
