    As a secondary questions regarding authenticity; We know that this cap was not introduced until the 1950 model year. However the parts book shows them as suitable for all of the 1947-49 cars as well. If someone enters his '49 Commander Starlight Coupe with these caps for judging would the judge be justified in deducting points?

          I am thinking that the ONLY way a person would get away with not losing authenticity points for those unusual wheel Covers with no Crest Emblem, would be as the rules suggest having a copy of the original listing showing them optional on '56-'59 trucks and "available" for '47-'49 cars also in that case.
