  • Someday finally came!

You know how it goes, you have a long list of things you want to do to your car "someday" but something always comes up and someday just never seems to come.

I lost my job last August halfway through buying parts to rebuild my Dana 44 TT and rear suspension and the Stude went into suspended animation indefinitely. Had things continued I would have had to sell it but I have had a recent reversal of fortunes and "someday" is finally here!!! I got a new job awhile back, the best job I have ever had plus I just received a nice little windfall so it's game on again. I started off this morning by ordering a pair of Fairborn axles to finish up my Dana 44 before I install it.

I believe I may even be able to do some things now that I originally thought were a couple years off. It still won't be "pretty" but it should drive like a dream and be rock solid reliable by the end of the driving season. THEN into the body shop to get what little rust it has patched up. After that I start saving for paint and chrome "someday" .

Very glad to hear that, now-days you don't hear of many people being able to afford to just survive, let alone having enough cash to actually do what you want! That's GREAT! [^]

GOOD for you. Kinda sounds like what happened to me
          about 3 or 4 months after I bought my 53. I waited
for about six months before being able to start again.
Thought I was going to have to sell. I am glad things
          happened positive for you.

Congrats on the new job and being able to start on the project again. I plan on changing my Dana 44 rearend out with the Fairborn flanged axles as well, especially since my Avanti is being converted to something between an R2 and R3 and will be mounted to a Tremec TKO.

Congratulations on the job. I can't imagine what it's like to be let go from a job and have a feeling of being in limbo. I'm very happy for your good fortune. Best of luck.
