  • Squeeks and Creeks

Put new springs front and back in my 63' Avanti and rebuilt front with new king pins, bell crank, bushings, etc. Car rides and handles nice, but where to start with the creeks and squeaks? First area I noticed is probably the dash?

I am usually happy if no parts are actually falling off. I don't have any specific places to look for you.

Where did you get your springs, and are they the source of any new
      squeaks?

As a use car mechanic we use silicone spray on the suspect parts that made noise. If it stop the squeak then we looked into that part to determine where the noise came from. Use the silicone spray sparingly don't want to make a big mess. good luck

The dash and stuff near or attched are a big source of noise. I've noticed squeaks from the area where the console comes up to meet the dash and shimmed the dash up to eliminate contact. I just keep smacking tngs listening for offending noises. I'm down to one left.

Exhaust contact under the car is also a problem area those pipes have to fit just right.
