Does anyone have a J6310 convertor alignment tool
I could use to make a copy of? This tool is for
the 63 flightomatic V8 transmission convertor and
housing alignment.

The "J" tool will not align your housing, only the converter within the housing. That assumes that you have a correctly "dialed-in" housing to block. I do not really think it is all that important, but they must have had a good reason for making it.

It is the housing that came with the car. Dial pins still in place. Yes, the converter within the housing is what I meant to say.

Kerry,

Here's my usual approach. I set the two ears on the TC at the 12 & 6o'clock positions. CAREFULLY, I use an implement to reach past the front seal lip and turn the slots (on the front pump) that recieve those ears to where they're roughly aligned to accept them. Then I carefully mate the tranny up to the bellhousing/torque convertor until it'll go all the way in. This may (likely will) involve a bit of gentle jostling and twisting of the tranny to get the ear engagement to do just that. Yes, it's a heavy unit.[}:)]
The biggest worry is that of damaging that front seal lip. They're actually pretty rugged (the seals) but you could concievably rip one of you weren't cautious.:)
