Wow,,,$428.00 and a day to go! Seems like you could chrome a decent set for a lot less money.

We were watching these for Tracy's President, but they got way too steep for our budget. The problem is that they are pot metal (we think), so re-chroming isn't an option. If we're wrong, someone please correct us... (One of ours is cracked and we don't come across them very often.)

They are out there and they can definitely be rechromed even though they are pot metal. You are better off finding one to replace the broken one though.

True they do have the B/U Lenses, the tail light lenses, the lower ribbed chrome filler panel with reflectors, the horse collar chrome T/L housings, bulb sockets, and wires all complete and nice, BUT USED Condition for [u]$428.00</u> and not done yet! Yikes! [:0] [:0]

John/Tracy, these were triple Chromed when new pot metal castings, so there would be no reason why they could not be re-done for another $500.00 to $600.00 for the FOUR pieces! [xx(]

I can sure re-plate 'em (and for less than that), but would advise looking about for an NOS set- they are not that scarce that I know of.

Depends on how much pitting there is... if you have a million little pits to hand-fill, it might cost a bit!

Well, they went for $510...

It looked like the ribs on the top of the tail light body were in pretty good shape...I've seen a lot where that is severely pitted.

Does anyone have NOS tail light bodies for a 57 sedan? Please email me if you do.

I'll give John and Tracy the part they need (from mine) if I buy them!

I've been looking for NOS for a year or so with no luck so far. Between two cars, I have one pair smashed (parked hard by a previous owner) another pair of junkyard rescues which are in one piece at least, and the best pair needs about $500 of that pit filling etc work to be "good". They are the single worst feature on the better of the two cars. So Barry H or anyone else, if you know of any NOS or nicer than a cheese grater, please get in touch with me. I have NOS lens, and NOS top plate inserts, but the BASES are the difficult parts to find; that and a useable body to fender gasket which seem to be made of unobtainium as far as OEM.
