Does anyone know of another host for me to upload Studee photos to? Photobucket has become so obnoxiously slow that I can't deal with it any more.

I use Flickr, and it works very well, but they have a limit of 200 free photos. If you go over 200, you have to pay for using it.

I use Picasa. I think you get a gig for free there and not many advertisments. I find videos a pain to upload, but photos are easy.

I have Yahoo as my homepage and there is a direct link to Flickr under 'My Favorites'.

well, that's strike two. Picasa wants to download some kind of software and won't do it. Flikr just sends the window out into space and nothing works afterwards. I don't believe this! Maybe I'll just call it a night.[|)]

FWIW, I've used Photobucket for years without a minute's trouble. If you're uploading on dial-up you're asking for trouble no matter who you use.

Before I got this high-speed air card I always waited to do uploads until I was someplace with high spped, then do it with my laptop.

Up until the last six months or so, I haven't had any trouble with PhotoBucket. Lately though, it's gotten so heavy with ads and unnecessary video that it has slammed to a stop.

That's a good idea though Bob about the laptop. I'll check with Starbucks in Weaverville to see what they charge for the internet use. Thanks for the capital idea!

Ron, most places that have it these days do not charge. In my tiny town we have a McDonald's that has it. I used to either take it in there or just sat in the car and used it. In my areas lots of the chain food joints have it, along with the malls, and truck stops. Even the cheapest motels have it, and most do not require a password or anything to log on; just pop into the parking lot and log on!

These days, you should never have to pay anything for internet access in public places, since most all are free; it's just a minor annoyance to have to go somewhere to get it. Good luck to you.

Thank you for the link to Picasa. I really like it. There's some really weird glitches that I think are related to an incompatible operating system on my computer. However, this is much easier to work with than what's being thrown at me from PhotoBucket.
