  • AC Part Number

I have an AC part number and cannot find it in any of my regular manuals. We do do know what this part fits and it is NOS. But I do not have a picture of it tonight. The AC number is 2473. It looks to me like it might on the top of a bumper, but not sure. I would appreciate any help. Thank You. Dusty

That is one decked out Coupe! I count (14) visible options on the car not counting the pairs or sets! [:0]

          How many can you find?

I don't know if we should let Craig play, he is way too into this!

Is that a day-night mirror? With that I get 14. All that on a Champion, too.

I come up with 15 options. That wouldn't be my car (or Bob Bourke's).

Dusty - That is a rare part. They were hard to come by in NOS condition in the early 1970s. Of course you need to find someone that wants one. These days, eBay makes that easy.

I suppose counting these could be a bit controversial, maybe a little too much for this crowd!

It depends on the rules you want to apply maybe, but what I did is only count what could be seen, I thought about the day/night mirror that MAY be there but could not verify it.

The other thing is, I did not count the Radio also because I could not see it, we all know it would be about 99% likely to be there, but we also know that if you wanted to install an aftermarket Motorola or Sears Allstate Radio, the Factory and or certainly the Dealer would be happy to correctly install that Internal Control AC Antenna through the cowl and fender for you!

                Any more guesses? [?]

You're right Gary, that sure would not be MY car either!

                  1) Hood ornament
                  2) Fender ornaments
                  3) Fog Lights
                  4) Fog Light bar
                  5) License cover
                  6) Wire wheel covers
                  7) white wall tires
                  8) Front bumper wings
                  9) rear bumper wings
                  10) Spot light
                  11) side mirror
                  12) fender skirts
                  13) Fuel Guard
                  14) Regal trim.
                  15) Radio antenna

Front bumperettes are stock but not in stock position.
                  Mirror is iffy.

Yep, you got them all Tom! <s>I didn't think I should count the Regal Trim, making the same 14 you got, because that is actually part of the model 14G-C5, which IS the car, not really an option.</s> [^]

The rear wing guard(s) were the hardest to see, and maybe also the License Plate Frame. [^]

That is just a ton of Accessories, and that is all that can be seen on the outside!

There could be a Traffic Light Viewer, Front Floor Mats, Rear Mats, Day/Night Mirror, Clock, Climatizer, Cigar Lighter, Seat Toppers, Gas Pedal Guard, Automatic Trans, or Overdrive, Auxiliary Heater, Trunk Light, Glove Box Light, Under hood Light, Back-up Lights, Parking Brake Warning Light, Turn Indicators, Sun Visor Vanity Mirror, Oil Filter, Tinted Glass, Windshield Washers, Exhaust Extension to name a few! [:0] Whew! [|)]

UPDATE: Well now isn't that interesting! I guess you are right, my body book shows no Regal (C5) Champion Coupes were built in '53-'54, only Commanders. So if I read that right, you WOULD have to order the trim as an option, because all you could buy is a C3 Champion! [:0] [:0] That's just weird!

That is strange because the way that I remember it, and the source where I confirmed it, show Champion Deluxe (C3) and Regal (C5) Starlights, but only Regal (K5) Starliners for 1953. It is also the same for 1953 Commanders.

Well I don't know your source but, I was looking in the model breakdown page of the '53 to '58 Body Parts Catalog, maybe I should check the Chassis Parts Catalog to see if it agrees? [:0]

UPDATE: Yep, my '51-'54 Chassis Parts Catalog says: '51-'54 Champion C5 was a Regal 5 Passenger Coupe!

This book is older, I thought the newer after the fact, '53-'58 Body Book would be more up to date, and more BODY TYPE specific...WRONG!

There is a 54 Champion coupe with the Regal (C5) trim sitting in my garage, so Studebaker did infact produce these cars. Junior

54 Champ C5 Hamilton car. In my family since 1958.
