Fire up your Studebaker or Packard on February 16th, it's a Tuesday. This is just for fun, but actually has a historical reason, Ill explain in a later thread, but if you do know the reason, SHHH!!! I plan on doing something special photo wise on that day, and it has absolutely nothing to do with marti gras... And if you don't have a stude or packard to start up, do something stude releated, like work on one. Again, I will explain all this in a later thread.[8D]:D[:p]

Mine was last Sunday. I started the 66 for the first time since fall. I even drove it from my shop to the barn where the 51 is sleeping. Here is another picture I snapped that day.

OK, now you're just messin' with us, Chris... did you really write 'martigraw'?[:0] Nobody needs to be a perfect speller, but if you got that for 'Mardi Gras', it's time to fire every English teacher you've ever had![}:)]

Your idea is good though; the cars need starting. I'll be watching to see what you've got in mind:)

Well... I suppose the Champ would count. After all, I use it on a regular basis. However, Bess is a different issue. Her engine gets turned over every few months, but it's sitting outside the engine bay right now. Course, the old girl's heart could be rigged to run where it sits if need be...;)

Chris, since you have an entire 17 inch screen sized Sig. line, do you mind when multiple posting to the same topic, un-clicking that little box at the bottom of your post that says "include your profile signature" please? [:0] :)

Great idea, we all anxiously await your clues to what this is about! [^]

Won't be me. It'll be a couple months before enough snow melts to allow me to even open the barn door[V].

Rich, I use a 17" screen also and found by setting the screen resolution to 1024 X 768, it's much more "forum" friendly. It really fits the forum format nicely and brings the pics down to a better size with a 17" screen with a lot less scrolling needed. I'm not sure if your graphics card will let you change it to that setting, but if it does, just go to your desktop - right click for menu - click on properties - click on the settings tab - slide the screen resolution tab to 1024 X 768 - click on the apply button - reboot if it asks you to and check out the results when your back up. Everything will be smaller and you might not like it at first, but try it out and if you don't like it, just follow the same steps and put it back where it was. I'm running XP, but I'm sure that this should work for other setups too. I do agree that large sig pics do take up a lot of space....hint.;)

Good idea Skinny, FOR SOME PEOPLE, but for me with tired eyes and reading glasses on, I need LARGE, I want to actually SEE the detail in Pics etc. I don't want everything tiny! :)

I hear ya. I've been wearing glasses since the third grade, but near sighted, not far sighted, so I could always see great up close. As of the last few years, even that is starting to fade. Not bad yet, but I can tell it's different. Pretty soon I'll have to stop making fun of the wife holding the paper at arms length when I have to start doing the same![B)]:D

The screen resolution deal is easy enough to try though, it might work for others, it really helped me out.;)[8D]

Well, it is now 2/15 here in South Bend, time to get the battery charger going and bring your studebaker to life! And again, this may be "Start your stude day", but even if you don't have a studebaker or packard to start or even better, take for a drive, it still counts to do something studebaker releated. Such as work on one, read a Turning Wheels cover to cover, build a model, take a pilgramige to South Bend (sorry, but it DOES NOT count if you already live in south bend...), while on your pilgramige, visit the factory and the SNM, or stay inside and watch factory films.;)[8D] Or... If you are really into it, you could start a stude, take a pilgramige to south bend, make somebody else drive and read a turning wheels in the SNM and visit the factory...[:p][:0] Point is, think Studebaker.[^] Remember, this DOES HAVE HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE, and most of all, have fun! Keep guessing what this means and I will tell you first thing on the 16th! Since I don't have a Stude to start on the 16th, I'm going to SI tomorrow and going to Tippie Canoe place on the 16th.:D Happy Studebakering!!!:D

After the sun melted a section of snow in my driveway, I can actually see the side of my car.I opened the drivers door for the first time this year.I would fire it up tomorrow (I still may) but I have to get the mountain of snow off of my hood so I can connect the battery. AND my snow vehicle that got me through the snow so well ('s)alternator took a dump.Daily driver rice is still buried in snow.:(Looks like I'll be a diggin' mamma-jamma AGAIN!![:I]
