Just now and twice earlier this week I have been told that I am a winner of some kind related to the Studebaker Driver's Club. I am asked to put in my e-mail address to win a prize. I have not done this as I do not think that it is something that the Forum would sponser. Have others had this same experience?

I suspect many SDC members are philanthropist and are quite charitable when giving to charitable organizations but when it comes to Studebakers .... We revert back to being CASO's buying low and selling high. Give a way a Studebaker never ....

I got a free one last year, with an extra 289, believe it or not. Never say never. I then gave it to another Forum member, free, so that the proceeds could go toward the restoration of another Stude. All positive acts come back home, eventually, I think.

"Does that make me a loser??"

I had a boss once who, whenever a junior employee would answer "I'm sorry," would cut off the rest of the sentence by injecting, "Well, we KNEW dat." Man did that get old fast.

Speak for yourself, John. I have both given and recieved free Studees. Maybe it's a money thing. The more one has, the less they are likely to part with either it or anything like unto it.;)

Years ago Dr. Cade donated a Lark to his chapter that was raffled off. He never gave another one to a raffle. The winner didn't understand that there wasn't a warranty included.

If someone wants a free Stude, I have a wrecked, picked over, rot bucket '63 Daytona that you can have if you haul it off. :)

If you get a message like that, PLEASE note all the details of it, especially what action was being taken when the message appeared. Was it in relation to getting a forum member email via the forum system? Jimmie has sent me a screen shot of what he received as a pop-up and it's definitely spam.

THE SDC IS NOT PARTICIPATING IN ANY ONLINE PROMOTIONS LIKE THIS. IF YOU GET ONE, DO NOT CLICK ON IT AND REPORT IT TO ME. THANKS!
