Interesting picture Richard. I notice there are red and green marks on the U.S. map. Would I be correct in assuming that they mark the locations of the Studebaker parts depots and new car distribution centers?

It is interesting to see that the two couples are better dressed to stop in at the local Studebaker dealer to study the accessory guide and smoke a cigarette than most folks are today in going to a wedding or funeral.

I don't know if I've ever seen that cap on a Studebaker? Do you have a better photo of it? It looks different then the Speedster cap to me.

Not sure, but one is in Cleveland. I better find it! There are many hoarders around here.

I agree with klifton1, that wire cover looks different from the ones normally seen on '53-'55's.

                  Above it I see a:

                  Gas door guard
pair of front fender top spears
                  hood ornament
                  mirror
                  exhaust deflector

and, a beauty ring around the left side?

Ooops, and a liscense plate frame in the lower middle with "Studebaker Accessories" plaque inserted.

Wouldn't mind having some of the wall art!

The literature on the table appears to be from same company that offered aftermarket continental kits for '53.

Nice factory artwork on the walls, looks like the dealer framed a drawing of his (probably new) building too.

BTW: Looks like an old chest-style Coke machine to the left.

Richard a very intriguing PR photo from your vast files. i am sure most Studebaker dealers in 1953 would have been very grateful to have these couples in hterir sshow room sitting and discussing the 1953 models. Thanks again for the picture you posted.

I think that a difference for the men to be more dressed up would be to wear black shoes and socks with those suits, instead of brown. This is about the way that I went to work in the early 1960s (except for the French cuffs - I only wore them for dressed up occasions).

I did'nt realise those fender spears were available prior to 55.
