  • Transaxles

Friends; A fellow chapter member has a Studebaker transaxle that he has owned for decades. He has no idea the model years that Studebaker used a transaxle. I told him it was from the teens, but that's all I know. Any help would be appreciated with years and model of vehicles the transaxle was used. Thanks for any help.[?][?]

Frank, for some reason I'm thinking 1916 was the first year for a "regular" trans and rear end. But I could be mistaken.

The transmissions moved forward when the Big and Special Sixes were introduced in 1918. Initially separated from the engine by a short drive shaft.
