Looks like Camaro windshield and doors, chromed Mustang wheels, Avanti nose and the rear looks C5 Corvette-ish from that angle. A bit too goofy looking for me. Almost like those kits to bolt on a 1950 Ford front and rear onto a mid-90s Thunderbird, just nicer. I wonder if it looks even more like a Camaro with the top up? Interesting car.

This is an "F" bodied Avanti. Simply stated it is on a Firebird chasis. Thanks Rich for the post. Bob only 7 to 10 AVX's were ever built. I have never seen one change hands. The original prototype is still in the hands of my friend Jim Bunting, the creator of the car along with Tom Kellogg.sigpicSee you in the future as I write about our past

Jon, you're right of course that it's not really a Studebaker. But I like it when later model Avanti owners use the Studebaker name, though maybe adding "originally designed by Studebaker" for accuracy. It gives folks like the teenager in the LaPalma shot posted by Bullet a bit more motivation to consider getting into our hobby... "Wow, Studebakers really ARE neat cars..!" I plan to put a Studebaker decal on the rear window of the '85 Avanti I'm restoring; of course in that model everything but the engine and seats are still Studebaker designed.
