  • OMG - It's Hideous!

Spotted this wretchedly customized bulletnose on the Hemmings Blog - anyone know the sad story behind it?

What the heck are you talking about..???? That is perhaps the most beautiful piece of automotive art I've ever seen. Why didn't Studebaker ever produce a car as nice??? WOW! Can you smell the sarcasm?

Obviously this car was built in a spirit of fun, as some sort of spoof on the Batmobile, maybe. The workmanship appears to be first-rate. I wouldn't mind having it in my garage, it'd make me chuckle every time I walked past it.

Well, if it wasn't for the pontiac hood ornament, I'd agree with Sal.

The worst part about that car is the Scooby Doo hood ornament.[)]

That car wouldn't last five minutes on the parking lot of the 'Stop Shop&Save' in my old 'hood!![:I][}]

It would be a neat car for some type of movie based off of a comic book maybe ....

That's one of the few vehicles I know of that would look better with a snow plow hanging on the front.

Something tells me the builder/creator of that car would get a big laugh out of the replies here. I can see them now "life is too short, might as well have some fun." And for some people it is a lot of fun to make people gasp when they see a car like this- I'll bet the builder will come up with an encore.

I don't think one can truely call the vehicle a Studebaker in any sense. Yes, it has Studebaker components... It also seems to have them from several other makers, such as Caddy. All in all, it seems to be a fairly well executed custom. How functional, drivable that is, it is... well that's another matter entirely.

The hood ornament is stupid though.[xx(] The car would be greatly improved without it.

Hope you're right. It's embarrassing to see people attack other's work. Usually it's from people who've never done any work themselves.

If anyone knows the builder and he sees this, make sure he knows it's just a small minority that would do this[:I]

I think the word "EXECUTED" sums it up.

I would SOOO drive that car. [:0][] However, I must agree that the hood ornament needs to go. [B)]
