I am having a problem with brakes. I have totally rebuilt the system on a '52 Commander. There are no leaks. I have bled the system every which direction with a pressure tank. All 4 cylinders are rebuilt and the Master is new. I have about a 2 inch pedal and it will pump up to about 4 inches, but while setting overnight there will be no pedal by morning, but it will pump to 4 again and hold for quite a while....problem ??.......Brad

Did you use dot 5 brake fluid? Everything I have read says not to use a pressure bleeder with dot 5 because this fluid attacts air and it is very difficult to get the air bubbles out.

Be sure that you have the M/C to pedal rod adjusted properly! Read the shop manual, there should be minimal play before you start to feel resistance. Start there. Also sounds like "maybe" a bad M/C, but I'd check the adjustmant first.

I replaced the old cleaned rebuilt master cylinder with a new one and it doesn't act much better......Brad
