I swear, any car's appearance can be very effectively downgraded with blackwall tires[xx(] Set of wide whites and knock the dent out of the rocker panel and she's a beauty![^]

Nice car but will deduct from a 400 pts car for rocker panel damage

Thanks for all the photos. I especially appreciate the
            ones that look like drivers.

Could that rocker panel dent be from a car hoist ?

Very nice! 14x7, yes, it could be. I know at my dads shop, we have to be carefull with the 2 post lift on some cars, since the frame is higher than the rocker panels. I don't know what its like under a hawk though.

I am probably alone in this but to me in most cases I prefer black sidewall tires. In my opinion the lack of whitewalls takes nothing away from this Hawk. But then each to his/her own....right?

I'm with you, Joe. Blackwall tires rule. To each their own, of course, but to me whitewalls, particularly wide whites, detract from a car. I know it is just me, but WW tires just look out of place.

I agree with Dick Steinkamp, in that I know he places a VERY high value on correct LOOKING Wheel/Tire combos! [] Not necessarily correct to the car, but the BEST looking for it's intended use.

Of course everyone has an opinion on this, so no one can be RIGHT, but the correct part is where we differ, my opinion is they NEED TO BE CORRECT for the era, or at least the intended use: Drag Racer, Street Cruiser, family car etc.

That is why I hate the 20 in. wheel stuff, rubber band tires etc.

And a top of line model only looks correct with wheel covers and either narrow or wide white walls depending if '47-'62 or '63-'66.

A "stripper", Lark Standard, Challenger, fleet vehicle, Police car, Taxi on the other hand, actually looks correct and "right" with the bottle caps and blackwalls! [^] It's MY opinion, and I'm sticking to it!
