Is that a '57 Oldsmobile peeking out?

About 17 or 18 years ago, there was a junkyard full of '40's through '70's stuff about fifteen miles from where I grew up. There were about a dozen Larks there, from '59 through '66 and my wife and a buddy bought me a tinted windshield from a '63 Cruiser there, to put in my Skytop (which had had its original tinted windshield replaced with non-tinted along the way). I bought four red interior armrests from the same car, later, that were in perfect shape, for a buck a pop. I remember seeing a '57 Packard wagon and a hulk of a '53 Packard Caribbean there when I visited.

The owner of the place (in NW PA) was an unusual gentleman named Barney. He had dreadlocks and you could smell him coming. But he spoke very intelligently. My wife had a university sweatshirt on and he asked her if that's where she went to college. She said 'yes' and he said, "I never made it to college; I'm too iconoclastic an individual". We had to look that up when we got home!

All he asked was that you closed the doors and hoods when you were done. He trusted you to bring the parts you got up to the trailer up front to pay when you were done.

Last I heard, he moved away and his property was bought and all the stuff crushed. That even made a story in my hometown newspaper.

Gee, Dave, it's not "drivin' ME 'nuts'! I love 'em!

I could picture me hauling them out 2 at a time with my rollback and bringing them to my place, so they could do the same thing they're doing there![:I][)]

Jerry just have a hard time understanding why you are not willing to give up the exact location of these cars. Are they yours and youre just having fun with us?

Being that Jerry's from GA, I'd guess that's where they are. Could be wrong, though. Doesn't matter much to me unless they're within an hour or so from me...

Don't forget, the pictures are 4 years old; so the cars may not even exist anymore.
