We just placed seven Studebakers from the Karel Staple Chapter at the California Auto Museum today. They will be there for the next four weeks. [8D]
We did a tribute to Bob Bourke as a theme. Our first car is a 1942 Double Dater Coupe. It represents Studebaker styling when Bob Bourke was just entering the picture at Studebaker - sort of a base line.
The next car is a 1951 Bullet Nose Starlight Coupe which represents Bourkes work in the "first by far with a post war car" era.
The next 5 cars are all "Loewy Coupe" based. A stock 53, a custom 53, a 55 President, a 57 Silver Hawk and a 64 GT Hawk.
John Bridges book "Bob Bourke designs for Studebaker" was a great resource for the historical information used in the display.
I sent Pat Dilling some pictures to post but they weren't great quality. [V]
Stop by the museum this month and check it out if you are anywhere near Sacramento California. [^]
