View Full Version : Stainless Steel Restoration

I'm looking for some tips on restoring some stainless steel trim that runs along a running board. It has been dinged pretty bad and nearly flattened in some areas. I am looking for a do-it-yourself approach to bring back to life. Not show condition but consistent profile for polishing.
I've looked for some threads with no luck. I found a couple of sites by Google but I always rely more upon the approach to problem solving from you guys here on the Forum.
Thanks for any experience that can be shared.

Dang! You guys are really good. What a great site!
I just marvel at the retained knowledge you folks have for directing us struggling newbies to a place to get answers..

Just the tips on what not to do is of great help. I will take some photos of the before condition and if it works out, photos of the after. If it doesnt work out, I may just hide.

thanks again.
