Switch removal tool

Okay this is a stupid question. But I dont want to damage my cool switches on my 56 hawk. Does anyone know have a KD tool # or something for a tool to remove my toggle switches without damaging the retainer nut?

Not aware of a special removal tool; I didn't worry about being real
careful when I took mine off since they were kinda rough anyway. I do know that you can buy new chrome retaining nuts though, if yours
get messed up during removal.

Most of the guys, me included, make their own tool out of a piece of pipe by grinding the end down to where you have two tangs to fit in the notches of the ring on the switch. I welded a T handle on the end to have something to hold on to. There is no tool commercially available that I am aware of.

You can use E or C ring pliers with the tips bent 90 degrees. They come that way.
