It just occurred to me how lucky I am in my retirement, playing with Studebakers with friends and helping with us getting the chance to play with so many Studebakers.
I was just on the phone with Sal talking about buying another one that sat for 50 years, just for the fun of playing with it, even though it's not likely to be a money maker. Folks that don't know the hobby can't believe we trust friends we've never met with some serious cash playing with cars, but I've never had a problem. We occasionally get a headache trying to figure out who owes who what, but we work it out based solely on trust. It reminded me of what the Studebaker brothers did years ago with their simple "I agree to sell all the wagons my brother builds", and the other agreeing to build all that the brother sells.
A big thank you to my Sal and my other friends that have helped me play with so many Studebakers as we head into another year.

It is a lot like gambling, and that's why so many don't take the risk. I've been doing it so long, it's not that risky. That project Avanti is a perfect example, I thought I knew what is was worth in parts, but I guessed low on many parts. I'll sum up a list for others that may want a feel for the Avanti parts market. The Australians and Europeans bought a lot of them.

Dude, how did you get that camera shot when driving? Did you tie your wife to the rear bumper again?? :D Gambling with a Studebaker purchase is fine but you shouldnt gamble with the life of your wife. Without her, who's gonna make dinner? ;)

OK, you had more fun than I did with that car, but as I recall, you did a lot of nice work on it.

You passed the torch to him when you took a break.:) Let me know when you are ready to jump back in, I have more cars than Sal can handle.
