  • 55 President State Coupe (new to the site)

Hi folks, new to the Studebaker scene, but thought Id
say hi and post some pics of a car I have.
Its a 55 President State Coupe.
The has been here in Az its whole life and still wears
its original paint. Was parked in 64 and been off the road
since. The Az sun has killed most interior as you may expect
but the body is still very clean and rust free.
The motor is complete but needs to be rebuilt from sitting.
    Its an auto car btw.
Wanted to say Hi to the enthusiest who would appreciate it the
most, and offer a few pics.

Hi Dayle, the body on that car looks incredible! Its a nice color combination also and could look amazing if restored to original. Good luck with your project.

          hi guys, thanks.
          Velvet Black over Coral, correct
          Heres another pic

inside the trunk is almost like the day it left the showroom
          as far as paint etc.
I have all the hubcaps but
The spare is on the car, but missing one of the original coral
          painted steel wheels.
The stainless on the car and chrome is really nice still.
          (thanks Az )

I'm surprised that it was parked 45 years ago being that it appears to be in very good condition. Perhaps the engine or tranny wore out and so they purchased a newer car?

                hard to say
                check out the license plates
Im working on tracking down the last owner
                this next few days.
The registration in the car was last dated 64
and the odometer is showing 82237, so it got some miles
on it between 58 and 64.
The 2nd owner bought it in 58 with 24,750 miles on it.

I look at the forum a lot, but don't often comment. Just had to say what a great car you have. I've always loved the 55s and you have one of the best examples. With those colors, it will look great when painted. Good luck on your project.

I am partial to the '55's and just a little jealous.
Good Luck on the restoration and come back to the forum often.
