We need more info, Spence. Do you plan on putting the carb in a box, R3 style or were you planning on using a bonnet at the top of the carb?

With the amount of money invested in the entire supercharger setup, it would be false economy to try and use the smaller WCFB. Are using the Avanti style side mount ?

You can use a Edlebrock with the marine accelerator pump and some sealing.

                  Greetings, hurricane,

There have been successful Paxton/WCFB installations in the distant past.

One thing to remember is 4-bbl carburetors are flow-rated at around 1" of vacuum. Add five pounds of boost and a 400cfm WCFB will flow all the air a stock 289" can ingest. The '57-58 Golden Hawks made do with a 2-bbl Stromberg of a much smaller CFM rating.

If the combination is a 300" with ported heads, big valves, longer duration camshaft, then a 600CFM Carter or Edelbrock would recommended.

                  thnx, jv.
