Wiring Junction Blocks

Were the wiring junction blocks on the 1950 Studebaker Champion painted or left bare metal or what? If so, what color were they painted?

My all-original '50 Champ Starlight has only the bare galv or cad finish on the junc block mounting brkts, which are att by large pan hd (slotted) screws.

Also the same on my all original 50 Champion. Bare metal fittings and that insulator material in natural color.
