I'm told that the galvanized jack tubes work excellent for repairing broken Studebaker station wagon frames. Lay it along side the frame and clamp in place with worm gear hose clamps. Then list it for sale on Ebay.

Hey, they are not just bumper jacks! There aren't many tools this light that can provide the lifting height in assisting you while lifting a body off a frame for restoration. If you lack overhead lifting facilities and tools...this is an alternative solution. Some nearby west coaster should take advantage of this opportunity.

Is it possible to use a bumper jack on a Hawk without damaging the bumper? I don't see how its possible not to at least scuff the chrome finish. Perhaps I am using it incorrectly? I carry a modern scissor jack (from a late model car) in my Hawk's trunk as I don't want to risk damaging the newly replated bumpers.

Don't use a jack on a Studebaker bumper. You won't like the results.

The jack supplied by Studebaker for my car would fit ONLY on the bumper. It was engineered that way, so they ARE bumper jacks for some cars.

A jack from any late 1980's Ford Crown Vic or Lincoln will do the same job and save your paint.
