  • Finally drove it after 10 years

i sent a few pics earlier this year of my 55 coupe that was nearly road ready. so after fighting the usual teething pains, and a painless(my a**) wiring harness, after 10 years i drove her again. the solid lifter 327 is a ton of fun though.

The longest I went is 5 years. The greatest thing in the world is bringing back to life.

        Love the car.

55 w/54 clip C-car and a solid lifter 327, great recipe for tons of fun.

If it wasn't for the last minute i'd never get anything done.

What!! Only 10 years. I bought mine in 1991 and it hit the road in 2009. You sure are faster than I am.

You have a great looking C that is well worth the wait. I'm fighting the same issues with my 83 Avanti but I'm close.

            Indeed a beautiful vehicle.[][]

Thanks. driving em is the only way to go. and after ten years, it was sweet indeed. next, after the break in, is three dueces, and a flanged 3.31(3.36?) twin trac out of a 66 cruiser i found in a junkyard in Placerville.

                  Congradulations!

I worked on my '53 for 10yrs too before I first drove it. Didn't get far that first spin around the block as it would stall and backfire under load since I had crossed 2 sparkplug wires by mistake [B)]

Despite the setback, my jaw ached later from grinning too hard

Hi Do you live close to Hange Town? We have a wonderful club here in the area go to www.Hawktalks.com. Check out our calender an join us anytime.Looks like you left the tail lights alone is that the 55 rear bumper? I ask because my 55 awaits the same kind of changes. The only piece missing is a 53/54 front bumper and to get over the guilt of removeing a fine 55 frontend.

blue55, are those the American Racing Ansen Sprint repops? How do they fit, what size tire, and any rub in the front? I like the whole look... really nice

those rims are old rims from swap meets, 15x7 with 245 60 15's. they are the same backspacing as the new ones, from what i can tell by looking at a couple last week. and don't rub at all
