  • "1967 Cruiser??" (Alberta)

Here's a curious Kijiji listing...I'd think "67" was just a typo, but it's repeated further down. Has to be a 65 or 66 of course...but hey, there was that one Cruiser used for '67 trim exercises...

    Anyone here know this car??

Wow! It is a very rare car! This has a 2-speed automatic! The only one of its kind. I guess Studebaker dropped Borg-Warner for 1967 and went to Chevy Powerglides?

You always read the enternet adds on Studes having powerglides just because some uninformed non Studebaker person calls it that because he only can count two shifts

I flipped him an e-mail requesting some pics... I'll keep you posted if I get a response.

          Mark--

Ta...if it has a raised rear bumper, big fat side mouldings, a two-rectangle grille, etc., then it's the trim-study car. Stranger things have happened!

(And yeah, I did notice the "two-speed" ref. The B-W in my humble ol' 62 Lark VI is a three-speed, figured anything later and fancier had to be too; maybe the Cruiser's tranny broke and was replaced with an older GM unit that would, of course, fit behind the 283? Or hey, maybe the vendor figured if he was going to add one to the model year, he'd subtract one from the tranny!)[]

Well with out any pic's it can be anything you want.
Theres at least 2 homemade '67's floating around.
One was last in Northern Indiana and the other in Austrailia.

Well, seemed like a reasonable question to me. [:I]
Well, certainly better than being shiftless! [:0][}]

Two shifts of course. The driver shifts from Park to Drive and the transmission does the 2nd to 3rd shift.[8D]

To the best of my recollection, there was more than one vehicle we used for 1967 mock-up, but all that were used reverted back to 66 models and disappreared into the mix.
