  • door trim removal on 1961 hawk

I have removed some trim on the doors of my hawk and I think I have broken the attaching tabs. The belt line trim around the hawk doors are held on by a clip, I think should be attached to the chrome parts. What is the correct way to remove these parts so the clip stays on the chrome? If the clips are on the doors are they useless? can they be repaired?

The clips stayed on the door when I removed them from my 61 Hawk. What you have to watch out for are the screws at the back end of the belting. If you don't know they are there you can strip them out trying to remove the belting[:I]

The chrom plating folks told me that my belt moulding was broken and that the clips were suppose to be on the trim peice's Is there a special tool that is used to remove these parts so the clips are intact?[8D] I have another car that I can use as a parts car however I need to remove them correctly.
