View Full Version : Alternator conversion

I have a 61 Hawk that has a Delco generator. I would like to convert to an alternator and swap out the amp meter for a volt gauge. What is the best path to take? I am planning on swapping out all the old SW gauges with new ones anyway. I will be using a Mallory Unilite from Dave T.

Have you looked at the technical tips on the SDC page?

You want my Honda swap then, you just need a Stude alt mount bracket.
You can wire the rest yourself pretty much, but I used Lark wiring. It
is on Bob Johnstons site, or here on the forum :

I converted my '63 Cruiser from the Prestolite alternator to a Delco alternator. The Cruiser is gone but I kept the bracket I had lengthened for the Delco. Yours for postage if you want it.
