289 oil pressure relief valve install

I am ready to put the new oil pressure relief valve & spring (SI) into a fresh 289 and can not remember how it came apart! Manual no help. Does the valve go in with the pilot hole first and the larger opening against the spring?

Yes, the small hole points towards the center of the engine, and the large hole towards the outside.
