Speed channel ran a marathon of HodRod TV on the week end and Dick was on camera at the Nationals but they must have left his comments on the cutting room floor. Would have loved to see more of Dick and the Ute. One vehicle was too interesting. It was a 35 or 36 Terraplane "Cab Express". I wonder if they emulated the Coupe Express or if someone at Studebaker picked up on the Hudson Terraplane? If not for SDC I would not have even noticed that truck. SDC and beer must make you smarter [:o)]

I watched that marathon too.
At the beginning of each episode they kept showing the covers
of old Hot Rod magazines. One had a '58 Packard Hawk on it.
Anyone know what year and month that issue was?

Lee did a fantastic job in the interview! [^]

After I "found" Lee through my original letter to Hot Rod Deluxe, we kept in touch throughout my "restoration" of his car. He flew down from Oregon for the Grand National Roadster Show with his wife, his son and daughter and some of the grandkids.

Here's a never before shown picture of his daughter with the car soon after Lee got it. Must be early 1958. Livermore, California.

Here she is at the GNRS...

I watched that segment with some interest.
With only 300 some built, that was a rare puppy.
And the fact that ALL he did to it was tires, grease, brakes, and a carb rebuild...
That was cool, indeed![8D][:p]

Yes, Dick, Lee carried the interview and you stayed in the background and let him enjoy the moment. Why am I not surprised. You're humble enough to be a Canadian!
