I FINALLY received my production order for my 1950 Commander Land Cruiser and it says my color code is "2266 BER", my trim no is "7574 BG CL-3", the model and body type are "17A Y5 CORSAIR", and my Transmission is "FWOD".

I know that the body code of "17A Y5" means 1950 Commander land cruiser, but I'm guessing that the designation CORSAIR was an in-house shortened name for the land cruiser?

BTW, it was shipped to the BRONX-ROSEDALE dealership.

Thanks AGAIN to a all for their viewing of the topics I post and responses.

2266 BER is a Bermuda Green. Mine is 2236, so 2266 may just be a shade difference, I don't know for sure. I would guess that the Corsair is a telegraph code but I don't find it listed in my books for my 50.

Bob, I did a little searching (Another slow day at the office) and found Ray Lin's site with some more info:

Bermuda Green it is! He even has some info from Rinshed & Mason on how to make the color.

17A Y5 simply states it's a '50 Land Cruiser.

"Corsair" is probably factory lingo for '50 LC's. (I remember reading that a '53 Commander Starliner was "Black Convoy".)

FWOD referring to the trans, most likely means Free Wheeling OverDrive.
